China Minmetals Holds 2025 Mineral Resources Work Conference

China Minmetals Corporation 2025-08-22

On August 8, China Minmetals held its 2025 Mineral Resources Work Conference. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhu Kebing, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, chaired the meeting. The convener of external directors and other members of the company’s leadership team were also present.

This conference served as a session to further study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important expositions and instructions on ensuring national energy and resource security. It was also a session for analysis and discussion to comprehensively review the achievements and challenges in China Minmetals’ resource-related work in recent years. Furthermore, it functioned as a mobilization meeting to rally all efforts for the full implementation of the “resource strategy as the primary strategy”.

The meeting emphasized the need to uphold the aspiration and shoulder the responsibility of “serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry”. It called for a deep understanding of the importance, necessity, and urgency of vigorously implementing the resource strategy at this current stage. The meeting also urged the company to accelerate efforts to focus on core business, align industrial positioning, and consolidate resources, thereby enhancing the integrated competitiveness across the full industry chain. It was stressed that the 15th Five-Year Plan period is a critical time for advancing China Minmetals’ resource strategy, a golden era for substantially enhancing its resource strength, and an important period for leveraging the company’s advantages across the entire metals and minerals industry chain. High-quality formulation of the planning set for the 15th Five-Year Plan period is essential, requiring concerted efforts from all segments of the resource industry chain to fully guarantee the supply and security of China’s metal and mineral resources. The company’s resource work system must be further improved by expanding channels for resource project acquisition, issuing unified standards for mine management and control, and accelerating the establishment of a group-wide talent management system for the mining sector. All subsidiaries were urged to implement China Minmetals’ resource strategy with unwavering determination, swift action, a pragmatic approach, and the courage to deliver results, so as to accelerate the building of a world-class enterprise group in the metals and minerals industry.

The conference also featured policy and system interpretations and special reports on key areas. Attendees participated in group discussions.
