On the morning of August 20, the 2025 New Employee Training Program of China Minmetals commenced at Minmetals Plaza. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, attended the opening ceremony and delivered the first lesson to the new employees.

Chen Dexin pointed out that China Minmetals was founded at a time of greatest national need and is a company with a glorious mission. Throughout its 75-year history, it has always shared a common destiny with the Party and the country. Following the reform and opening up, it completed a strategic transformation into a large-scale metals and minerals group through continuous mergers and acquisitions. In the new era, the company has dedicated its efforts to building an integrated industry chain, striving to make great strides on its journey to become a world-class enterprise. China Minmetals possesses formidable strength, with its business covering metals and minerals, metallurgical construction, high-tech industry, trade and logistics, and finance and real estate, making it one of China’s largest and most comprehensive metals and minerals groups. Bearing a heavy responsibility, China Minmetals must shoulder the strategic mission entrusted by the nation, focus on its core business, align its industrial positioning, and consolidate its resources. It must comprehensively enhance its position and influence in the global metals and minerals sector, contributing the strength of China Minmetals to ensure the supply and security of the nation’s metal and mineral resources.

Addressing the vibrant new employees, Chen Dexin put forward five hopes: First, to uphold political integrity as the foremost quality, resolutely solidify one’s ideological foundation, and carry forward the “red gene” of China Minmetals through practical actions of loyalty to the Party and service to the country. Second, to take on responsibility as the core pursuit, aspire to bear in mind the “top priorities of the country,” uphold the aspiration of serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry, and grow into a solid and trustworthy force for the Party and the country with the ambition to achieve great undertakings and the courage to strive for excellence. Third, to treat learning as a lifelong task, strive to master outstanding skills, humbly learn from predecessors and colleagues, complete the transition of roles as soon as possible, and enhance one's capabilities through practice. Fourth, to make a strong work style a defining characteristic, vigorously promote the spirit of practical work, dare to tackle tough challenges, build resilience in adversity, go deep into the grassroots, and achieve extraordinary results in frontline positions. Fifth, to observe discipline as the behavioral bottom line, start one’s career with integrity from the very beginning, adhere to professional ethics, always maintain a sense of reverence, and be consistently self-respecting and self-reflecting to ensure one acts with integrity and achieves long-term success.

The new employees expressed that the “first lesson” was inspiring and greatly encouraging. They pledged to keep these words of guidance in mind, shoulder their responsibilities, and make due contributions to accelerating the building of a world-class powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry through outstanding performance and a solid work style.

The opening ceremony was held in a “on-site + video link” format. Heads of relevant headquarters departments and directly-managed enterprises, along with all new employees, participated in the event at the main venue and 213 video sub-venues.
