China Minmetals Corporation 2025-09-05

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. From August 20 to 21, China Minmetals leaders Chen Dexin, Zhu Kebing, Chen Jianguang, and Xu Jiqing separately visited retired veteran cadres of China Minmetals who joined the revolutionary work during the war period—Yu Houhua, An Wenxun, Yu Yitong, and Chen Huanying. They thanked them for their long-term contributions to national construction and the reform and development of China Minmetals, and presented them with commemorative medals for the “80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression” along with best wishes.

Chen Dexin showed concern for Yu Houhua’s health and living conditions and gave an overview of China Minmetals’ overall situation. He said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China Minmetals has diligently implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, adhered to the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and unswervingly promoted high-quality development. Through the united efforts of all officials and employees, the company has actively responded to internal and external challenges, fully playing its role as a “pillar” and “ballast stone” among central state-owned enterprises. This is the result of the sustained and collective efforts of generations of Minmetals people.

Zhu Kebing inquired about An Wenxun’s health and daily life and briefed her on the overall situation of China Minmetals. He noted that the company has focused on a management policy of ensuring stable growth, promoting innovation, strengthening industries, advancing reform, preventing risks, ensuring safety, and enhancing Party building. As a result, its production and operations have shown steady progress, achieving the “double-over-half” targets in the first half of the year. These achievements are imbued with the wisdom and care of the veteran comrades.

The leaders of China Minmetals noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping has given important instructions on the work related to veteran cadres on multiple occasions, which fully reflects the respect and care that President Xi and the CPC Central Committee have for the vast number of veteran cadres, as well as their high expectations for those who work with them. China Minmetals’ work with veteran cadres must take the spirit of President Xi's important instructions as the fundamental guidance. This work in the new era must be carried out with deep affection and a strong sense of responsibility, providing services with heart and soul. Retired veteran cadres are a valuable asset to the Party, the nation, and China Minmetals. It is hoped that while enjoying their retirement, the veteran comrades will continue to contribute their wisdom and experience, and remain concerned with and supportive of the cause of China Minmetals, offering suggestions for its high-quality development.

Yu Houhua, An Wenxun, Yu Yitong, and Chen Huanying expressed their gratitude for the care and regards from the leaders of China Minmetals and voiced their appreciation for the series of gratifying achievements made by the company. They said they would continue to care about and support the reform and development of China Minmetals as always, share the company’s development experience and historical stories, and wished China Minmetals new and greater success.

Heads of relevant departments from China Minmetals’ headquarters participated in the visits.
