China Minmetals Corporation 2025-10-10

On September 20, China Minmetals held its first employee sports meet for the North China region in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals; Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director, and President; Wang Hongwei, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Trade Union of Financial and Commercial Workers, Light Industry and Textile Workers, Tobacco Industry Workers; and other members of China Minmetals’ leadership team attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Wang Jiezhi, Deputy Party Group Secretary and Director of China Minmetals.

In his opening address, Chen Dexin pointed out that China Minmetals has always adhered to a “people-oriented” development philosophy, caring for the physical and mental health of its employees and vigorously fostering a development environment that is positive, harmonious, and stable. This sports meet is an important part of the series of events celebrating the 75th anniversary of China Minmetals. He expressed his hope that all athletes would compete with skill, sportsmanship, and unity, and transform their competitive passion on the field into a lasting motivation for daily exercise, so they can embrace a happy life and contribute to the nation's strength with better physical fitness. He noted that China Minmetals is currently in a critical stage of “three overlapping challenges,” requiring, more than ever, the determination to stay focused, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the spirit of sincere cooperation. It is hoped that everyone will use sports as a bond to forge unity, practice the “Five Core Principles” of China Minmetals, and translate the drive to strive for excellence into concrete actions to tackle difficulties. Furthermore, he urged them to integrate the fighting spirit of daring to win into the practical actions of “serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry.” By firmly seizing the key historical window and important strategic opportunities to promote the high-quality development of China Minmetals, they are expected to demonstrate new actions with new responsibilities and write a new chapter with new achievements, thereby making greater contributions to enhancing the “three roles” and striving to be “three vanguards.”

Following the address, Chen Dexin announced the opening of the first employee sports meet of China Minmetals for the North China region, and Zhu Kebing fired the starting pistol for the men’s 100-meter race.

A total of 29 teams and over 1,500 athletes from China Minmetals’ headquarters and its subsidiaries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region participated in the competition, with more than 1,800 officials and employees spectating. On the field, whether sweating in individual events like running, jumping, and throwing, or cooperating seamlessly in team events such as tug-of-war, land dragon boat, and 10-person figure-eight jump rope, the people of Minmetals strived for first place and fought with unity, showcasing the Olympic spirit of “Higher, Faster, Stronger – Together.” The stands echoed with continuous applause and cheers as spectators from various units rooted for the athletes, creating a fervent and exhilarating atmosphere throughout the venue.
