On September 28, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director, and President of China Minmetals, visited China Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd. In Golmud, Qinghai. They went deep into the production frontlines to conduct a work safety inspection and extend greetings to officials and employees. Wang Xingquan, Party Group Member and Vice President of China Minmetals, accompanied the visit.
Chen Dexin toured several facilities, including the Yuanpin Thermal Power Plant, Salt Lake Magnesium’s Methanol Plant, and the DMTO&PP Plant. He gained a detailed understanding of the production processes, the Amoeba operating model, technological innovation, and work safety and environmental protection efforts. Engaging in cordial conversations with frontline officials and employees, he encouraged everyone to maintain their positive morale and the excellent work style of “doing solid and practical work,” thereby further fostering a favorable development dynamic where “the enterprise has value, and the employees have dignity.”
Chen Dexin emphasized that the company must thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches and instructions. First, a safety management system centered on the implementation of the work safety responsibility system must be established and improved, with the dual prevention mechanism being fully enforced. Positive incentives for hazard identification should be strengthened to resolutely guard the red line and bottom line of safety and environmental protection. Second, significant efforts must be made to improve operational efficiency by enhancing profitability through accounting-based management, increasing efficiency through refined management, and boosting performance through reform and innovation. These measures will continuously improve business performance, strengthen value creation capabilities, and provide solid support for the company’s high-quality development. Third, a strong focus must be placed on team building. This includes solidly advancing the construction of a tiered talent pipeline, enhancing the skills and qualities of the workforce, and further stimulating vitality for innovation and efficiency, striving to create a positive atmosphere where “everyone is a participant, and everyone is an operator.”
Separately, Zhu Kebing chaired an on-site coordination meeting at Salt Lake Magnesium for the Major Campaign for the Integrated Magnesium Metal Project. He was briefed on the comprehensive mobilization and deployment for the campaign, the consolidation of the management system, the current progress on key challenges, and the work plan for the next steps. The meeting stressed the need to effectively gather internal and external advantageous resources and to conduct research with an open approach to accelerate industrial application. Leveraging Qinghai’s advantages in clean energy and green computing power, the project must secure core and key elements to enhance its economic feasibility. A product-oriented mindset should be adopted, exploring pathways to commercialize technological achievements along the R&D journey, thereby driving the high-quality development of the magnesium industry.
