On September 28, the “4+2” Ten-Thousand-Ton Lithium Salt Project of China Salt Lake Industrial Group Co., Ltd. was successfully commissioned in Golmud City, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Luo Dongchuan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Governor of Qinghai Province, and Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, attended the ceremony and delivered addresses. The ceremony was presided over by Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director, and President of China Minmetals. Also in attendance were Liu Chao, Vice Governor of Qinghai Province; Su Quanren, Secretary-General of the Provincial Government; and Wang Xingquan, Party Group Member and Vice President of China Minmetals.

On behalf of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Provincial Government, Luo Dongchuan extended his congratulations on the successful commissioning of the project. He pointed out that accelerating the construction of a world-class salt lake industrial base is a major mission entrusted to Qinghai by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The successful commissioning of the “4+2” Ten-Thousand-Ton Lithium Salt Project is a concrete action taken by Qinghai Province and China Minmetals to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions. It stands as a landmark achievement of the deepened cooperation between the two sides and is poised to play a vital role in advancing the construction of the world-class salt lake industrial base and safeguarding national resources and energy security. Qinghai Province will continue to prioritize ecological conservation and green development, uphold the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, and consistently support the growth and strengthening of China Salt Lake Industrial Group. These efforts will drive the high-quality development of the salt lake industry, thereby making new and greater contributions to ensuring national food security and supporting the development of the new energy and new materials industries.

Chen Dexin expressed his gratitude to the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee, the Provincial Government, and all relevant departments for the significant guidance and support provided during the project’s construction. He emphasized that the completion and commissioning of China Salt Lake Industrial Group’s “4+2” Ten-Thousand-Ton Lithium Salt Project is a major outcome of government-enterprise cooperation in thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directive on building a world-class salt lake industrial base. It serves as a clear testament to China Salt Lake Industrial Group’s leadership in technological innovation and production process enhancement within the global salt lake industry. Moreover, it is a prominent achievement of China Minmetals leveraging its integrated whole-industry-chain advantage in the metals and minerals sector to support China Salt Lake Industrial Group in becoming a leader in the new energy industry chain. The commissioned “4+2” project utilizes globally leading technology, which will comprehensively enhance China’s capacity to ensure the supply and stability of lithium resources and advance its technological and equipment standards. This will further strengthen the independent and controllable capabilities of the nation’s lithium battery industry chain and provide a solid guarantee for Qinghai’s efforts to build a green, low-carbon, and circular economic system. He expressed his hope that China Salt Lake Industrial Group would take this as a new starting point and strive to develop the project into a demonstration, brand, and benchmark project that leads the development of the global salt lake industry. Looking ahead, China Minmetals is willing to continue strengthening its cooperation with Qinghai Province, jointly serving “matters of national significance,” shouldering “great national responsibilities,” and co-authoring a new chapter in the synergistic development of the government and the enterprise.

Zhu Kebing stated that the commissioning of the “4+2” Ten-Thousand-Ton Lithium Salt Project signifies that the Qarhan Salt Lake, a land of great promise, is once again radiating powerful vitality in the new energy era. It is also a key landmark achievement of the strategic cooperation between China Minmetals and Qinghai Province, leveraging their respective advantages. He expressed his hope that the project would soon reach its designed capacity and achieve the expected results, making an even greater contribution to the construction of the world-class salt lake industrial base.

At the event, Luo Dongchuan, Chen Dexin, Zhu Kebing, Liu Chao, and Wang Xingquan jointly launched the commissioning of the “4+2” Ten-Thousand-Ton Lithium Salt Project. They then proceeded to the 40,000-Ton lithium salt production workshop at the Qarhan Salt Lake to conduct an on-site inspection of production operations and the construction of the modern salt lake industrial system. They encouraged the staff to persevere with a “nail-driving” spirit to ensure thorough implementation, promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, and contribute to accelerating the development of a modern industrial system.
