China Minmetals Corporation 2025-10-29
Recently, the Executive Committee Office of the 3rd National Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China and the Management Committee of the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, the host locality for the competition, separately sent letters to China Minmetals. In these letters, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to China Minmetals' subsidiary, China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. (CFMCC), for the high-quality construction of the project titled as Digital Exhibition and Trade City of Zhongyuan High-Speed Rail Port, which provided high-quality venue support services for the competition.
The 3rd National Vocational Skills Competition was successfully held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, from September 19 to 23, 2025. Taking place at a critical juncture—marking the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan—this competition was a highly significant and far-reaching skills event. It presented a grand skills festival for the nation, one that promoted the spirit of labor, reflected the characteristics of the era, and embodied the stature of a major country, standing as a landmark occasion for skilled professionals across China.
As the primary entity responsible for the construction of the main competition venue, CFMCC approached the task with a high degree of political consciousness, a strong sense of responsibility, and a solid work ethic. By enhancing overall coordination and data-driven scheduling, and working in close partnership with the competition's Executive Committee and the Owner, CFMCC demonstrated remarkable commitment and overcame numerous challenges in the construction of the project titled as Digital Exhibition and Trade City of Zhongyuan High-Speed Rail Port. The company established an intensive, efficient, and digitally-empowered "Corporate Management of Projects" system. Leveraging its digital construction platform and groundbreaking, first-of-their-kind construction technologies in China, it significantly compressed the critical path schedule, setting nine national records, including those for the widest truss and the longest continuous intersecting arch. Achieving the main structure's capping in just 6 months and delivering the entire project for use in only 15 months, CFMCC turned the impossible into possible, setting a new benchmark for the construction speed of similar venues in China. This ensured that the competition could be held as scheduled. Besides, during the event, CFMCC conducted comprehensive, all-encompassing inspections, making outstanding contributions to the complete success of the matches and vividly embodying the accountability and prowess of a central state-owned enterprise.
In recent years, China Minmetals has vigorously championed the spirit of model workers, labor, and craftsmanship. While actively stepping up to support major national projects like the construction of venues for the National Vocational Skills Competition, it has also been deeply implementing the national strategy on developing a quality workforce in the new era. Moreover, it has established a comprehensive system for cultivating highly-skilled talents, fostering a team of proficient professionals who have achieved outstanding results in numerous national and international skills competitions, winning honor for the country. In this competition, contestants from China Minmetals' subsidiary, China 19th Metallurgical Corporation ("MCC19"), competed with tenacity and achieved outstanding results of one gold, two silver, one bronze, and two medallions for excellence, fully showcasing the superb technical skills and excellent spirit of China Minmetals' young skilled workers. The letters of thanks are not only a high recognition of the hard work and dedication of CFMCC's project team but also a vivid demonstration of China Minmetals' commitment to shouldering its national responsibilities and actively serving the national strategy through deepened cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.
