On December 18, Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director and President of China Minmetals, met with the visiting Zhu Jian, Secretary of the Hengyang Municipal Party Committee. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation between central enterprises and local governments. Wang Xingquan, a leader of China Minmetals, and Liu Zhengxing, a leader of Hengyang Municipal Government, attended the meeting.

Zhu Kebing welcomed Zhu Jian and his delegation, and thanked the Hengyang municipal Party committee and municipal government for their long-term support for the operation and development of China Minmetals' local enterprises. He stated that China Minmetals has always kept in mind and actively fulfilled its original mission of "contributing to human progress through developing the mining industry, with the strategic positioning of "national team”for resource security and main force for advancing new industrialization and urbanization, whose business scope spanning non-ferrous metal minerals, metallurgical construction, science and technology industry, trade and logistics, financial capital and real estate development. Since the beginning of this year, China Minmetals has achieved a series of new outcomes in promoting cooperation between enterprises and local governments, including the successful establishment of China Salt Lake with Qinghai Province and winning the bid for the prospecting right of Huahonggou Iron Mine in Liaoning Province. China Minmetals' business in Hengyang covers multiple sectors such as non-ferrous metal mining, smelting, processing and engineering construction, involving various metal products such as copper, lead, zinc, gold and silver, as well as commodities such as sulfuric acid and fluorochemical products. This has laid a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation between the two parties. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China Minmetals will work with Hengyang City to address common issues, give full play to its integrated advantages across the entire metal and mineral industry chain, further strengthen cooperation with Hengyang in the efficient development of resources, enhancement of product added value, project construction and scientific and technological research and development, so as to better assist Hengyang in achieving high-quality economic and social development.

Zhu Jian thanked China Minmetals for its positive contributions to Hengyang's economic and social development over the years and briefly introduced the basic situation of Hengyang. He stated that Hengyang City, as a national key regional city and a provincial sub-center city, is accelerating the development of a modern industrial structure underpinned by the strategy of "stabilizing the five traditional sectors, advancing the three emerging sectors and deploying the two future-oriented sectors". As one of the important platforms for cooperation between China Minmetals and Hunan Province, Hengyang will fully provide high-quality service guarantees and create a sound business environment. It is hoped that the two sides will further deepen strategic cooperation, promote coordinated development, accelerate the implementation of key projects, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Before the meeting, the two sides also jointly visited the China Minmetals’ Exhibition of Metallurgical & Mining Sci-tech Achievements.
