On February 3, as the Spring Festival approached, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited China Second Metallurgical Group and Baotou North China Aluminum Technology. During the visit, he reviewed the companies’ operations and management, technological innovation, safety and environmental protection, project construction, and Party building initiatives. He also conducted workplace safety inspections and extended Spring Festival greetings to frontline employees and cadres.

Chen Dexin began his visit at the exhibition hall of China Second Metallurgical Group, where he was given a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations. Via a remote video link, he received updates on the progress of two projects - the Community Elderly Care and Childcare Service Center in Xuecheng District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong, and the Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park in the Mianyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Sichuan. He also viewed displays showcasing the company’s technological innovations and model “good house” projects. Chen Dexin then proceeded to Baotou North China Aluminum Technology, where he toured the temporary office area and inspected the smelting furnaces and casting and rolling workshops. During the visit, he learned more about the company’s production processes, technological innovation, and safety and environmental protection efforts, and had cordial conversations with frontline employees and cadres. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives concerning the work of central enterprises. He urged the companies to focus on their principal responsibilities and core businesses, strengthen technological innovation, and continuously deepen reforms. It is essential to balance development with security to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the enterprises. Efforts must be made to enhance operational performance by strengthening management accountability, improving returns through meticulous oversight, increasing efficiency via refined operations, and driving growth through reform and innovation. A commitment to excellence and continuous improvement should be upheld to steadily enhance the effectiveness of corporate governance. A comprehensive work safety management system must be established, centered on the strict implementation of the work safety responsibility system. It is crucial to reinforce employees’ safety awareness and adopt multiple measures to build a robust safety protection network. Party leadership and Party building must be comprehensively strengthened, carrying forward the revolutionary spirit, embracing responsibilities and missions, and upholding the fine traditions of enterprises to steadfastly pursue a path of high-quality development.
