On February 11, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Zhang Chengzhong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Tangshan Municipal Committee. The two sides held in-depth discussions on further strengthening enterprise-local cooperation. Wang Xingquan of China Minmetals and Dong Jihua of Tangshan City attended the talks.

Chen Dexin welcomed Zhang Chengzhong and his delegation, expressing appreciation to Tangshan for its longstanding support of China Minmetals. He stated that China Minmetals remains committed to serving the country’s mining sector and strengthening the nation through mining. The company continues to enhance its core function of “securing the supply and safety of national metal mineral resources” and steadily improves its core competitiveness through integrated, high-quality development across the entire industrial chain. It has successfully transformed into a modern metal and mining enterprise group distinguished by its resource-based foundation, composite primary business, diversified structure, transnational operations, and integrated mega-consortium model. Noting the long history and solid foundation of cooperation between China Minmetals and Tangshan, Chen Dexin expressed hope that both sides will strengthen communication and alignment in areas such as urban renewal, new energy materials, trade and logistics, and green ore blending. He emphasized leveraging complementary advantages to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Zhang Chengzhong thanked China Minmetals for its longstanding and significant contributions to Tangshan’s economic and social development. He noted that Tangshan, leveraging its distinct geographical strengths, solid industrial foundation, and strong development momentum, will continue to optimize its business environment to provide quality services and create favorable conditions for enterprises operating in the city. He expressed hope that China Minmetals would fully leverage its advantages in resources, technology, and industry to expand cooperation with Tangshan in areas such as infrastructure construction, mineral resource utilization, new energy materials development, and trade and logistics system optimization—contributing to the service of national strategies and promoting high-quality development for both sides.

Before the talks, both sides also jointly visited the China Minmetals Corporation Mining and Metallurgy Technology Achievement Exhibition.
