On the afternoon of March 16, a delegation led by Wei Xiaodong — Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC — visited China Minmetals for research and inspection purposes. During the visit, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, held talks with Wei Xiaodong. The two sides discussed ways to deepen government-enterprise cooperation, implement the 'service package' system and promote high-quality enterprise development. Liu Zhanxing, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, and Cheng Yong, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals, attended the talks.

Chen Dexin welcomed Wei Xiaodong and his delegation, thanking Beijing for its long-standing and comprehensive support and assistance to China Minmetals. He stated that China Minmetals has fully embraced the principles set out in the significant speeches and directives issued by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The company’s mission is to ensure the supply and security of the nation’s metal and mineral resources. It is a modern metal and mineral enterprise group characterised by five distinct features: a focus on mineral resources; a diversified core business portfolio; a multi-sectoral structure; transnational operations; and a large-scale, consolidated structure. China Minmetals and Beijing have a strong basis for cooperation with great potential. The company intends to strengthen government-enterprise coordination with Beijing further and expand collaboration in areas such as technological innovation, financial services and urban renewal. This will take their mutually beneficial strategic partnership to a higher level and enable Minmetals to contribute its strengths to the high-quality development of the capital.

Wei Xiaodong acknowledged the significant contributions that China Minmetals has made to Beijing's economic and social development over the years. He noted that the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC has consistently fulfiled its duties in line with the requirements of the Party and the government, and in accordance with public expectations. The "service package" system is fundamentally about providing integrated service guarantees. By visiting enterprises and addressing their specific needs, the system continuously enhances its capabilities and improves the business environment. This year marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Beijing is committed to achieving breakthroughs through high-quality development and sustaining steady yet progressive growth. Boasting abundant resources in education, science, technology and talent, Beijing is striving to establish itself as an international centre for scientific and technological innovation. The city welcomes central state-owned enterprises, such as China Minmetals, to participate actively, leverage their strengths and align their efforts with Beijing’s development goals, thereby achieving shared growth. Prior to the talks, the two sides jointly visited the Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievement Exhibition of China Minmetals.

The heads of the relevant departments of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, along with representatives from the relevant headquarters, departments and subsidiaries of China Minmetals, attended the talks.
