From March 17 to 19, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, conducted inspections at several of the company's subsidiaries in Shanghai, including China MCC20 Group, MCC Baosteel Technology Services, Shanghai Baoye, MCC (Shanghai) Steel Structure and Minmetals Capital Shanghai Office. He carried out safety production inspections and conveyed his regards to frontline managers and employees.

During his visit, Chen Dexin toured several sites, including the exhibition hall of China MCC20 Group, the equipment manufacturing industrial park, the technology exhibition hall, and the intelligent operation and maintenance control center of MCC Baosteel Technology Services, the Shanghai Baoshan Station project, corporate exhibition hall, and operation monitoring center undertaken by Shanghai Baoye, the manufacturing plant workshop and intelligent production line of MCC (Shanghai) Steel Structure, and the Minmetals Capital Shanghai Office. He gained detailed insights into the companies' histories, development plans, production and operations, technological innovation, safety and environmental protection efforts, and Party-building activities. He encouraged everyone to remain confident, persevere, uphold the brand and strive for continued success. He also held symposiums at China MCC20 Group and the Shanghai Baoshan Station project undertaken by Shanghai Baoye, where he sought opinions and suggestions on education and learning initiatives aimed at fostering a correct understanding of performance.

Chen Dexin emphasised the need to thoroughly study and implement the important directives by General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding central state-owned enterprises. He stressed that we must remain firmly committed to our mission of serving the country through mining, and to our responsibility of building a strong mining industry. We should focus on our primary responsibilities and core businesses, strengthen technological innovation, deepen reforms, balance development with security and accelerate enterprise transformation and upgrading. We must resolutely establish and strengthen a management and control model centred on financial control and focused on fund management. We should continue to promote Amoeba Management and persistently pursue value creation through prudent operations, efficiency gains through refined management and productivity improvements through reform and innovation. This will effectively enhance operational performance. We should strengthen talent development and optimise the workforce structure by focusing on cultivating talent, achieving tangible results, generating benefits and sharing best practices, while also fostering exemplary role models. We must advance the transformation towards intelligent, green and integrated development without wavering, cultivate new productive forces with strong industry competitiveness, accelerate the deep integration of artificial intelligence with intelligent production lines and promote the deep convergence of computing power, algorithms and data to empower business transformation and upgrading through technological innovation. We should reinforce responsibilities for safety production at every level, with regular safety inspections carried out as routine practice. We must establish robust mechanisms for identifying and addressing potential risks, and we must implement requirements for safeguarding migrant workers’ wages to guarantee that all payments are made in full and on time. The Minmetals Securities Research Institute should break free from constraints and overcome habitual thinking. It should focus on becoming a specialised, high-level, industry-focused financial think tank that supports the development of China Minmetals' modern industrial system. This would provide solid backing for the Group’s scientific decision-making. It is essential to firmly establish and practise a correct view of performance, closely following the overarching principle of "serving the public good, benefiting the people, ensuring scientific decision-making and taking pragmatic action", and advancing education and learning initiatives in a substantive manner. Continuous efforts should be made to promote rigorous Party governance, develop integrity-focused initiatives, enhance legal and compliance awareness among all employees, reinforce the bottom line, and ensure that officials do not dare, cannot, or want to engage in corruption.
