On March 23, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, held talks with Chen Zhichang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Party Secretary of Baotou. The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen the cooperation between the local government and enterprises. Wang Xingquan, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice General Manager of China Minmetals, attended the talks.

Chen Dexin thanked the Baotou Municipal Party Committee and Government for their continued support and assistance to China Minmetals. Chen Dexin stated that China Minmetals has remained steadfast in its mission to serve the nation through mining, fulfilling its responsibility to build a robust mining industry. Dedicated to ensuring the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources, the company has strengthened its core competitiveness by promoting integrated, high-quality development across the entire industrial chain. It has successfully transformed into a modern metal and mineral enterprise group characterised by a focus on mineral resources, composite primary businesses, a diversified structure, transnational operations and large-scale consolidation. Over the years, China Minmetals and Baotou City have collaborated closely and achieved positive results in a number of areas. He expressed hope that both sides will further strengthen the foundation for cooperation, enhance communication and exchanges, align closely with Baotou's development goals for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and deepen collaboration in areas such as new energy, new materials, engineering construction, trade and logistics, technological innovation, and the commercialisation of research outcomes. He also hoped that they will elevate their strategic partnership to a new level and make greater contributions to serving the national strategy.

Chen Zhichang expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Baotou over the years. He stated that Baotou has a solid industrial foundation and distinct comparative advantages. It is currently making every effort to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as building a modern industrial system. He hoped that, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, both sides will leverage their respective strengths, seize industrial development opportunities, and further expand the scope of cooperation. By collaborating effectively and practically, they will work together to increase industrial scale, extend industrial chains, boost product added value and promote high-quality development. Baotou will continue to optimise its business environment by providing quality services and creating favourable conditions for the development of China Minmetals and its subsidiaries.

Prior to the talks, the two sides visited the China Minmetals Mining and Metallurgy Technology Achievement Exhibition together and watched a promotion video of China Minmetals. During the exhibition tour, the two sides discussed ways to promote the integration of technological and industrial innovation.

Relevant officials from Baotou City, as well as the heads of relevant China Minmetals departments and enterprises attended the talks.
