Chen Dexin holds talks with Xu Peng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) ​

On April 14, Chen Dexin (Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals Corporation) held talks with Xu Peng (Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC)) in Shanghai. The two sides discussed ways to serve national strategies and strengthen their cooperation further. The talks were attended by Zhu Yonghong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Chief Accountant of CSSC, and Duan Wenwu, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Chief Accountant of China Minmetals Corporation.

Chen Dexin expressed gratitude to CSSC for its long-standing support and assistance to China Minmetals, and outlined the development history and business operations of the company. He stated that China Minmetals has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving the nation through mining over the course of 76 years of transformation and development, shouldering the responsibility of establishing China as a mining powerhouse in the process. The company has grown into a modern metal mining enterprise group characterised by the following five features: a resource-based foundation; an integrated core business; a diversified structure; multinational operations; and a large-scale conglomerate model. China Minmetals and CSSC have strong industrial synergies and significant collaboration potential. Over the past few years, the two companies have enjoyed fruitful collaboration in areas such as technological innovation, supply chains, and financial services. He expressed hope that, as they embark on the 15th Five-Year Plan period, both sides will further build consensus and deepen cooperation, enhance regular exchange mechanisms, and expand collaboration in areas such as resource extraction, logistics, and technological breakthroughs. The two sides aim to raise their practical cooperation to a new level by achieving resource sharing, complementary advantages, and mutual benefit.

Xu Peng expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-standing support to CSSC. He stated that the CSSC is currently refining and advancing its '1-1-7-8' overall requirements, with the aim of winning the 'seven major battles' and ensuring the implementation of the strategic blueprint of the 15th Five-Year Plan delivers tangible results. Xu Peng expressed hope that both sides will chart the right course for development and seize growth opportunities in response to national needs and building on their existing foundation of cooperation. He called for focused efforts in key areas such as technological innovation, capital operations, strategic emerging industries, new energy, and equipment construction. He also emphasised the importance of continuously strengthening institutional mechanisms and coordination in order to jointly usher in a new phase of high-quality development for their enterprises.

Relevant CSSC leaders, as well as heads of relevant headquarters departments and enterprises of China Minmetals, attended the talks.
